Tsuga canadensis Pendula
Tsuga canadensis ‘Pendula’ is a classic weeping form of eastern hemlock selected for its cascading branches and expressive, irregular silhouette. Rather than forming a uniform tree, this cultivar develops a flowing, sculptural habit that can be trained or allowed to spread naturally. Its soft, dark green needles emphasize the graceful movement of the branches throughout the year. It grows best in partial shade with cool, evenly moist, well-drained soil and has a moderate growth rate once established. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it is most effective as a specimen plant in woodland gardens and naturalistic landscapes.
