Nursery Propagation
We propagate via hardwood, and softwood cuttings. And in cases where grafting is required to produce the desired cultivar, we use a side wedge graft technique.
Cuttings are placed in raised beds inside a greenhouse at our nursery where they begin their lives in a high humidity, protected environment. Once the cuttings have rooted we transplant them from the raised propagation beds into containers, where they harden off and adjust to outdoor life here in Weaverville, NC.

Field Grown & B&B Plants
We also grow conifers directly in the field, in some cases for 15 years or more. This allows for slow, natural growth where the trees can develop good roots and a strong, healthy, natural-looking form that won't require shearing, trimming, or pruning.
Once a plant from our nursery has been selected for a new home, we very carefully dig ball and burlap the tree in preparation for moving. Our preparation is done with care to ensure that the entire plant is well protected for transportation and re-planting.

Hosta's & Ferns
We grow a variety of Hostas, miniature and giant, some with good slug resistance as well as those that are sun-tolerant. We are continuously expanding our nursery inventory and carrying an increasing number of native species and flowering shrubs for pollinators and wildlife.
