Taxus x-media Tauntonii

Taxus × media ‘Tauntonii’ is a classic spreading yew introduced in the mid-20th century and long appreciated for its low, broad habit and winter resilience. Selected for its ability to withstand cold and snow load, it forms a wide, gently mounded evergreen shrub with flexible branches. Rich green needles provide dense coverage and excellent year-round structure. It grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil and has a moderate growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–7, it typically reaches 3–5 feet tall while spreading much wider, making it ideal for mass plantings and groundcover use.
