Taxus cuspidata Aurescens
Taxus cuspidata ‘Aurescens’ is a long-cultivated golden form of Japanese yew valued for its durability and vibrant foliage color. Unlike some golden yews that scorch easily, this cultivar tolerates a wider range of conditions while maintaining bright yellow new growth that matures to chartreuse. It develops a broad, upright to spreading habit with dense branching and excellent winter presence. It grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil and has a moderate growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–7, it is widely used as a colorful evergreen anchor in cold-climate landscapes.
