Picea pungens Blaue Kissen

Picea pungens ‘Blaue Kissen’, which translates to “Blue Cushion,” is a dwarf Colorado blue spruce selected in Europe for its low, rounded form and dense blue foliage. Rather than forming an upright cone, this cultivar develops a compact, cushion-like mound that highlights the species’ signature silvery-blue needles at ground level. Its restrained growth and tidy shape made it popular in alpine and rock garden traditions. It grows best in full sun with well-drained soil and cool air circulation. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–8, it remains small for many years and provides strong color without dominating the landscape.
