Picea orientalis Bergmans Gem

Picea orientalis ‘Bergman’s Gem’ is a rare dwarf Oriental spruce discovered in the Netherlands and prized for its extremely compact, bun-shaped form. This cultivar forms a tight, flattened mound with very short, glossy dark green needles that give it a refined, almost polished appearance. Its slow growth and consistent shape have made it a classic choice in alpine and rock garden traditions. It prefers full sun with cool, evenly moist, well-drained soil. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–7, it remains small for decades and is especially valued by collectors of true miniature conifers.
