Picea abies ‘Sport’ is a distinctive Norway spruce selection that originated as a natural sport, noted for its globose, compact growth. Rather than following a predictable pyramidal form, it develops a rounded structure that gives it character early on. This cultivar reflects the kind of spontaneous mutations historically prized by collectors for their individuality. It grows best in full sun with cool, evenly moist, well-drained soil and has a slow to moderate growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it matures as a small to medium evergreen suited to specimen use and conifer-focused gardens.
