Picea abies Dumpy

Picea abies ‘Dumpy’ is a true dwarf Norway spruce prized for its squat, cushion-like habit and dense branching. The name reflects its naturally flattened, low profile, which creates a strong horizontal presence rather than a traditional conical shape. Short, deep green needles give it a refined texture that holds well year-round. It grows best in full sun with cool, well-drained soil and develops at a very slow pace. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it stays small and is an excellent choice for alpine gardens and small-scale landscapes.
