Juniperus horizontalis Mother Lode

Juniperus horizontalis ‘Mother Lode’ is a vivid golden groundcover juniper selected for its intense yellow foliage and extremely low, spreading habit. Considered a brighter and more refined improvement over older golden junipers, it hugs the ground tightly and provides strong color contrast throughout the year. Foliage deepens to warm amber and bronze tones in winter. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and tolerates heat, cold, and poor soils with ease. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it spreads gradually while remaining just a few inches tall, making it ideal for slopes, walls, and erosion control.
