Abies Koreana ‘Green Carpet’

Abies koreana ‘Green Carpet’ originated as a naturally low-growing selection of Korean fir, chosen for its spreading habit and dense, ground-hugging form. This cultivar retains the species’ cold hardiness and rich green color while offering a distinctly horizontal presence in the landscape. It grows slowly, typically adding 2–3″ per year, gradually forming a broad, mounded carpet of layered branches. The short, glossy needles are deep green above with silvery undersides, creating subtle contrast and texture that remains attractive throughout the year. Its compact, spreading character makes it especially well suited for rock gardens, slopes, and small spaces
