Abies pinsapo ‘Aurea’

Abies pinsapo ‘Aurea’ is a distinctive, slow-growing evergreen conifer prized for its brilliant golden-yellow spring growth and stiff, radiating needles. This ornamental selection of Spanish fir brings luminous colour and year-round structure to specialist conifer collections, rock gardens and carefully designed landscapes.

The emerging foliage is the plant’s main attraction, displaying vivid golden-yellow tones that gradually mature towards green. Depending on the climate and growing conditions, some golden colour may persist through the seasons. Its naturally symmetrical, broadly conical habit and dense, architectural branching make it an excellent specimen plant. 25′ tall x 8′ wide when mature.

In hot climates, some afternoon shade can help protect the golden foliage from scorching.
