Tsuga canadensis Jervis

Tsuga canadensis ‘Jervis’ is a lesser-known dwarf eastern hemlock selected for its dense, compact growth and tidy, rounded habit. This cultivar offers a more uniform structure than many dwarf hemlocks, making it especially useful where a composed, intentional form is desired. Fine, dark green needles provide year-round texture and contrast in shaded settings. It grows best in partial shade with cool, evenly moist, well-drained soil and has a slow growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it remains modest in size and fits well into small gardens and specialty conifer collections.
