Tsuga canadensis Lewisii

Tsuga canadensis ‘Lewisii’ is a distinctive selection of eastern hemlock valued for its slightly more open habit and graceful branching. Chosen to highlight the natural elegance of the species, this cultivar develops a relaxed, layered structure rather than a tight mound. Soft green needles create a light, airy texture that works especially well in woodland and naturalistic plantings. It performs best in partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and grows at a slow to moderate pace. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it matures into a small to medium evergreen with a calm, understated presence.
