Microbiota decussata Jacobson
Microbiota decussata ‘Jacobsen’ is a refined selection of Siberian cypress valued for its low, spreading habit and exceptional cold hardiness. Native to the mountains of Siberia, the species is known for its soft, feathery foliage that turns bronze to purplish tones in winter. This cultivar forms a dense, ground-hugging mat that provides year-round texture and excellent weed suppression. It grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil and a slow to moderate growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 2–7, it typically remains under 1–2 feet tall while spreading widely, making it an excellent groundcover for cold climates.
