Lonicera nitida Baggensen’s Gold

Lonicera nitida ‘Baggesen’s Gold’ is a low-growing evergreen shrub prized for its bright golden-yellow foliage and dense, mounding habit. Long used in European gardens as a boxwood alternative, this cultivar offers fast coverage and excellent tolerance to shearing. It performs best in full sun to partial shade, with brightest color in stronger light, and adapts well to a range of well-drained soils. Hardy in USDA Zones 6–9, it grows at a moderate to fast rate and typically reaches 2–4 feet tall and wide, making it ideal for low hedges and groundcover.
