Liquidambar styraciflua Slender Silhouette

Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Slender Silhouette’ is a striking columnar form of sweetgum selected for its extremely narrow, upright habit. Unlike the broad canopy of the species, this cultivar grows tall and tight, making it ideal for narrow spaces where fall color is still desired. Star-shaped green leaves turn vivid shades of red, orange, and purple in autumn, offering dramatic seasonal interest. It grows best in full sun with evenly moist, well-drained soil and has a moderate growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–9, it typically reaches 40–60 feet tall while remaining just a few feet wide.
