Cryptomeria japonica Globosa
Cryptomeria japonica ‘Globosa’ is a long-cultivated form selected for its naturally rounded shape and dense, finely textured foliage. Rather than forming a typical conical cedar, this cultivar develops a broad, globe-like habit that requires little to no pruning to maintain its shape. It performs well in full sun to partial shade and appreciates consistent moisture in well-drained soil. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–9, it grows slowly into a compact shrub or small tree and is often used to soften foundations and structured garden spaces.
