Tsuga canadensis Jeddeloh
Tsuga canadensis ‘Jeddeloh’ is one of the most recognizable dwarf hemlocks, discovered in Germany and prized for its distinctive nest-like form. This cultivar develops a low, spreading habit with a pronounced central depression, creating a natural bowl shape that sets it apart from other dwarfs. Soft, medium-green needles accentuate the layered branching and give the plant a gentle, woodland character. It performs best in partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and grows slowly but steadily. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it is a classic choice for shaded borders, rock gardens, and specimen plantings.
