Tsuga canadensis Hussii
Tsuga canadensis ‘Hussii’ is a classic dwarf eastern hemlock selected in Europe for its tight, compact growth and excellent garden discipline. This cultivar forms a dense, rounded to slightly irregular mound with short shoots and closely spaced needles. Its slow, controlled growth made it popular in traditional rock garden and alpine plantings. It thrives in partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and protection from hot, dry conditions. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it remains small for many years and is well suited to refined landscapes and specialty conifer collections.
