Tsuga canadensis Gentsch Globe

Tsuga canadensis ‘Gentsch Globe’ is a true globe-shaped dwarf hemlock selected for its symmetry and extremely dense branching. Unlike many dwarf hemlocks that develop irregular forms, this cultivar maintains a consistent, rounded silhouette without pruning. Soft green needles form a tight surface that gives the plant a polished, architectural look. It performs best in partial shade with cool, evenly moist, well-drained soil and grows very slowly. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it is ideal for formal gardens, containers, and small-scale plantings where shape and proportion matter.
