Taxodium distichum Falling Waters
Taxodium distichum ‘Falling Waters’ is a refined weeping bald cypress selected for its narrower profile and controlled cascading habit. Introduced to provide a more vertical, garden-friendly weeper, it allows designers to use bald cypress in smaller landscapes without sacrificing drama. Fine-textured green foliage flows downward along a strong central leader, then turns rich russet in autumn. It thrives in full sun and tolerates wet soils exceptionally well, growing at a moderate pace. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–9, it is especially effective as a specimen near water features or in rain gardens.
