Syringa vulgaris Tiny Dancer
Syringa vulgaris ‘Tiny Dancer’ is a modern dwarf lilac selected for bringing the classic look and fragrance of common lilacs into truly small spaces. This cultivar produces traditional lavender-purple flower clusters on a compact, upright plant that stays far smaller than standard Syringa vulgaris. It was developed to fit contemporary gardens where space is limited but spring fragrance is still desired. It grows best in full sun with well-drained soil and has a moderate growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–8, it typically reaches 4–6 feet tall, making it ideal for patios, small yards, and foundation plantings.
