Syringa pubescens Miss Kim
Syringa pubescens ‘Miss Kim’ is a classic Korean lilac introduced to North America in the mid-20th century and prized for its compact size, cold hardiness, and refined fragrance. Lavender buds open to pale lilac flowers with a spicy-sweet scent later than common lilacs, extending the bloom season. This cultivar maintains a neat, rounded habit and resists many of the mildew issues common to older varieties. It grows best in full sun with well-drained soil and develops at a moderate pace. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–8, it typically reaches 5–8 feet tall and wide and is valued for both bloom and fall color.
