Platyclatus orientalis Beverleyensis
Platycladus orientalis ‘Beverleyensis’ is a classic dwarf form of Oriental arborvitae selected for its dense, rounded habit and fine, scale-like foliage. This cultivar traces its popularity to early ornamental plantings where compact evergreen structure was needed for formal designs. Rich green foliage often takes on bronze tones in winter, adding seasonal interest. It grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil and develops slowly and predictably. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8, it remains small and is well suited for rock gardens, containers, and low hedging.
