Picea abies Clanbrassiliana

Picea abies ‘Clanbrassiliana’ is a historic dwarf Norway spruce discovered in the 19th century on the Clanbrassil estate in Ireland. Rather than forming a classic cone, this cultivar develops a broad, flattened, nest-like habit with dense, dark green needles. Its unusual shape makes it especially effective as a low focal plant in rock gardens and conifer collections. It grows best in full sun with evenly moist, well-drained soil and develops slowly over time. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it remains compact and distinctive even with age.
