Tsuga canadensis Harmon

Tsuga canadensis ‘Harmon’ is a dwarf eastern hemlock selected for its dense branching and naturally rounded form. This cultivar was valued for its consistency and reliability, offering a compact alternative to the species without the extreme irregularity seen in some dwarf selections. Fine, dark green needles create a soft, refined texture that works well in understory plantings. It performs best in partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and develops slowly over time. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it remains garden-friendly in size and fits easily into small landscapes and conifer collections.
