Thuja occidentalis Danica
Thuja occidentalis ‘Danica’ is a classic dwarf arborvitae introduced from Denmark and widely regarded as one of the finest globe-shaped evergreen shrubs. Selected for its naturally symmetrical form, this cultivar develops into a dense, rounded mound without the need for pruning. Bright green foliage retains its color well through winter, especially in protected sites. It grows best in full sun to partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and has a slow, steady growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it remains compact and is a cornerstone plant for foundations, borders, and formal garden designs.
