Pinus uncinata Maja

Pinus uncinata ‘Maja’ is a dwarf mountain pine selection valued for its tight habit and strong year-round structure. Chosen from alpine forms for ornamental use, it highlights the species’ compact needle length and wind-sculpted character. This cultivar develops a low, rounded to slightly irregular shape that emphasizes texture rather than height. It grows best in full sun with sharply drained soil and develops slowly over time. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–7, it is especially suited for rock gardens, troughs, and collector-focused landscapes where subtle alpine character is desired.
