Picea abies Wingles’s Weeper
Picea abies ‘Wingle’s Weeper’ is a dramatic weeping Norway spruce discovered and selected in North America for its strong cascading habit and expressive form. Unlike older European pendula types, this cultivar is known for its vigorous weeping branches that create flowing lines and high visual impact. It is often trained when young to establish height, then allowed to drape naturally into a sculptural specimen. Dark green needles provide year-round texture and contrast. It performs best in full sun with evenly moist, well-drained soil and grows at a moderate rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, its ultimate size and shape depend on training, making each specimen uniquely individual.
