Fothergilla x Mount Airy

Fothergilla × ‘Mount Airy’ is a classic hybrid shrub admired for its four-season interest and outstanding fall color. In spring, bottlebrush-like white flowers appear before the leaves, offering a light fragrance and early nectar source. Native parentage gives this cultivar excellent adaptability, preferring full sun to partial shade and moist, acidic, well-drained soil. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–8, it grows at a moderate pace into a rounded shrub about 4–6 feet tall and wide and is especially valued for its vivid orange, red, and yellow autumn foliage.
