Chamaecyparis pisifera Spahns Cannonball

Chamaecyparis pisifera ‘Spahn’s Cannonball’ is a true dwarf Sawara cypress selected for its naturally globose, ball-shaped habit and dense blue-green foliage. This cultivar grows very slowly and maintains a tight, rounded form without pruning, making it ideal for precise placements. It prefers full sun to partial shade and evenly moist, well-drained soil. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–8, it typically remains under a few feet tall and wide over many years and is an excellent choice for rock gardens, containers, and fine-scale plantings.
