Chamaecyparis obtusa Filicoides Nana

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Filicoides Nana’ is a true miniature Hinoki cypress prized for its exceptionally fine texture and very slow growth. This cultivar forms a low, compact mound of delicate, threadlike foliage that adds softness and detail to conifer collections. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, growing gradually without losing its natural shape. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8, it typically remains under a few feet tall over many years and is an excellent choice for troughs, alpine gardens, and collectors of dwarf conifers.
