Buxus microphylla Grace H Phillips
Buxus microphylla ‘Grace H. Phillips’ is a classic ultra-dwarf boxwood long valued for its naturally compact, spreading habit and fine-textured evergreen foliage. This slow-growing selection forms a low, tidy mound that requires little to no pruning, making it ideal for edging, knot gardens, and small formal spaces. It performs best in partial shade to full sun with well-drained soil and benefits from some protection from harsh winter winds. Hardy in USDA Zones 6–8, it grows very slowly, often adding just an inch or two per year and improving in character with age.
