Thuja occidentalis George Peabody

George Peabody is a tall growing North American native Thuja selection sporting attractive golden-yellow foliage year round, even throughout the winter months. It is a an upright, somewhat narrow variety that might reach 25 to 30 feet tall and 10 to 15 feet wide when all grown up, making it an excellent and more colorful choice and alternative to ‘Green Giant’ as a specimen, grouping or privacy screen. It will add a foot or more of new growth per year. The golden foliage is scale-like and appears in flat, fan-shaped clusters. Attractive, small, reddish-brown urn-shaped cones to 1/2 inch long contrast nicely with the foliage. Easy to grow and stands up to snow and wind in USDA Zones 2a-8b
