Chamaecyparis obtusa Mariesii

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Mariesii’ is a classic Hinoki cypress selection valued for its elegant, upright habit and beautifully layered, dark green foliage. Often considered one of the more refined forms of Hinoki, it develops a narrow, pyramidal shape with strong structure and year-round interest. It performs best in full sun to partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and grows at a slow to moderate rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8, it matures as a small to medium-sized tree well suited for specimen use in the landscape.
