Chamaecyparis obtusa Meroke
Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Meroke’ is a compact dwarf Hinoki cypress valued for its dense, upright to irregular habit and finely textured deep green foliage. This cultivar develops a strong sense of structure at a small scale, making it easy to place in gardens where space is limited. It grows best in full sun to partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and has a slow, controlled growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8, it remains modest in size over many years and works well in rock gardens, containers, and curated conifer plantings.
