Picea abies Pusch

Picea abies ‘Acrocona Pusch’ is a compact selection of the classic ‘Acrocona’ Norway spruce, prized for its ornamental red spring cones on a smaller, garden-friendly plant. Like its parent, cones appear prominently at branch tips in spring, creating vivid contrast against fresh green needles. This cultivar develops a low, irregular to broadly spreading habit rather than a formal pyramid. It grows best in full sun with evenly moist, well-drained soil and has a slow to moderate growth rate. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it typically matures much smaller than standard ‘Acrocona’, making it ideal for residential landscapes and collector gardens.
