Chamaecyparis obtusa Reis Dwarf

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Reis Dwarf’ is a compact Hinoki cypress valued for its dense structure and refined, dark green foliage. This cultivar forms a low, rounded to slightly irregular mound with closely layered sprays, offering strong texture at a small scale. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, growing slowly and predictably without losing its natural shape. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8, it remains modest in size and works beautifully in rock gardens, containers, and curated conifer groupings.
