Chamaecyparis obtusa Bess
Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Bess’ is a charming dwarf Hinoki cypress selected for its compact, rounded habit and soft, deep green foliage. With its slow growth and naturally tidy form, it requires little maintenance and fits easily into smaller landscapes. It grows best in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, with steady but restrained growth. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8, it typically remains low and broad, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, containers, and foreground plantings.
