Cotoneaster salicifolius ‘Repandens’

Cotoneaster salicifolius ‘Repandens’ is a vigorous, low-growing evergreen to semi-evergreen groundcover valued for its graceful, spreading habit and glossy, dark green foliage. Its slender, willow-like leaves are carried on long, arching branches that form a dense mat, making it particularly effective for covering slopes, banks, retaining walls, and other areas where a spreading groundcover is desired. Small white flowers appear in late spring or summer, followed by abundant, bright red berries in autumn that often persist into winter and provide food for birds. In colder climates, the foliage may take on attractive purplish tones or become partially deciduous.

‘Repandens’ is especially useful where a broad, low-growing plant is needed to soften slopes, spill over walls, or provide year-round structure in the landscape. It performs best in full sun but will tolerate partial shade, with fuller growth and better fruiting generally occurring with more sunlight.
