Picea glauca Rainbows End

Picea glauca ‘Rainbow’s End’ is a celebrated color sport of the Alberta spruce, discovered in the Netherlands and prized for its luminous golden spring growth. Each year, bright yellow new shoots emerge at the branch tips, gradually maturing to green and creating a layered, multicolored effect. This cultivar retains a dense, compact conical form and grows slowly, allowing the seasonal color display to remain a focal point. It performs best in full sun to partial shade with evenly moist, well-drained soil and some protection from intense heat. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–7, it remains small and is widely regarded as one of the finest colorful dwarf spruces in cultivation.
